1. Make up roughly about 12% of the population:

On an average about 12% of the world population is left handed, 87% right handed and 1% ambidextrous.

Mr. Narendra Modi, Honorable Prime Minister of India, he was born ‘left-handed’ but forced to be ‘right-handed’ through training in childhood.

But, many a times most left-handers are forcibly trained by parents and elders during early childhood to perform major tasks with their right hands like eating and writing though many learn to eat with their right hand but still switch back to use their left hand for writing.

2. Use the right side of the Brain the most:

"Only left handed people are in their right minds"

ie., The right side brain controls the left side of the body and vice -versa, so we can say that the Brain is cross-wired.

3. Have their higher intelligence levels:

Lefties have higher IQs

4. More likely to be male:

23% of lefties are male.

5. Better at multitasking:

The right handed people tend to solve the problems by breaking them down into parts and analyzing each piece one at a time.

Where as, lefties tend to look at the problem as a whole and use pattern matching to try and solve.

6. Recover from strokes faster.

Language function is controlled by left brain, when strokes or brain injuries occur on left side will have an adverse effect on language. Where as, after stroke, lefties recovers 70% faster.
